definitely my new press photo for all the articles not getting written about me
Shout out to every bad ass in Ferguson, MO picking up live tear gas cans and throwing them back with their bare hands.
We’re rooting for ya.
Yesterday a mass of people like I’ve never seen before filled 23rd street for as far down as I could see, protesting the Zimmerman verdict. The street was nearly solid with people. It stopped all traffic. It had to be thousands of people. From the middle of it where I walked with them I could see no end before or behind me. It was incredible to see that many people reacting so quickly. But I am also sad because if the limited effect of Occupy Wall Street is any indicator of the effectiveness of protest, I don’t feel much will happen regardless of the shear number of people I saw. I’m really surprised there aren’t more articles about it. How often do enough people rally together to stop New York traffic in its tracks? Even the NYPD couldn’t do much more than walk along side us until they got far enough ahead of us to barricade the road. It was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen.
Remember when people FILLED the streets in New York City and stopped traffic over the verdict of George Zimmerman shooting Trayvon Martin? We stopped New York City traffic for hours and not ONE major news source covered it (I think Huff Post was the only one.) Remember that?
Good luck, Ferguson. <3

Definitely one of my favorite gifs of the summer.
